- WD 2-8-0 No.7337 is being lifted upright for removal and escaped any serious damage apart from the cab.
- It was put back to work soon after the accident and ended it's days at The Longmoor Military Railway.
- Train Driver Benjamin Gimbert, who weighed 18 stones was thrown 200 yards through the air and landed on some grass to survive the incedent
- Fireman James Nightall, uncoupled the 2 flaming wagons from the rest of the train and returned to the footplate. He was killed instantly when the wagons exploded.
- The Signalman Frank 'Sailor' Bridges who was running alongside the footplate giving informastion to the crew was also killed in the explosion.
